Arthur is passionate about sustainability in every aspect of his life and strives to live a life that models this and pays careful attention to how we care for the earth. He has worked in the field of Sustainability for over five years where he has seen millions of pounds of e-waste be diverted from landfills under his direction.

Danny is a sustainability advocate, a bicycle enthusiast, and a lover of the great outdoors. He is passionate about combatting the global crisis of landfill disposal both on and off the clock. He has spent over three years managing operations in various sustainability initiatives.

Hails from the Pacific Northwest, enjoys searching out sustainable food sources to sharpen cooking skills. Amateur angler with a dream of obtaining a captain’s license in the near future. Much of his workday is spent providing local entrepreneurs with useful electronic “waste”.
Aaron Laut is originally from Long Beach California and is the oldest of 3. His major is Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. As an undergraduate Senior at USD, he is also on the football team and is great to work with! Aaron’s position at the ERC is the Digital Marketing Intern. His job is to create google ads using Google Adwords in order to reach potential customers. Aaron also puts in a lot of hours in the back warehouse where he sorts E-Waste and occasionally tests items for the storefront.
Ashton Chacon moved to San Diego in 2013 to pursue a degree in finance. He is in a position focused on IT asset disposition at USD’s ERC for four years now. In May 2017, Ashton was recognized for his excellent efforts at the ERC and his willingness to start projects and see them through to completion by the Department of Sustainability at USD. Hoping to pursue a permanent career in an environmentally oriented company upon graduation, he remains dedicated to contributing his technical expertise to the ERC.
Ayushi Agarwal is an attorney from India. She came to the United States to pursue her Master in Law at USD. She moved here almost two years ago and loves San Diego! Her work at ERC is to maneuver online sales through eBay. Her assignments at the ERC also include making sure ERC’s internal control comply with CalRecycle, DTSC, and SB- 20 CA State laws and regulations. Ayushi has worked at the ERC for almost a year and is grateful for all the opportunities it has brought her.
Billy Vasquez is in his final year at USD. He is a double major in History and Philosophy. He enjoys spending time with family. Billy also enjoys playing video games, going to the beach and playing soccer. An interesting fact about him is that he is an Alaskan fisherman. Billy works in the back warehouse of the ERC, he handles pickups and sorts E-Waste!
Brennan Edwards is a third year student at USD majoring in Political Science with a minor in International Relations. He hopes to go to law school where he will either work as a corporate attorney or in international law. Brennan grew up in San Diego for most of his life. He began working at the ERC in 2017 after being a customer during the ERC’s early operations. He has helped out in every position at the ERC, but mainly works in the e-Lab, there he tests items to see what condition they are in.
Caroline Gruthers is a sophomore at USD. She moved to San Diego for school from Texas. She is a Finance major with a minor in Nonprofit Social Enterprise and Philanthropy. Caroline loves the outdoors and being in nature. Something she wants to do during her lifetime is visit every National Park in the U.S. She loves San Diego and hopes to be able to stay here after college!
Casey Bryant is a first year student at USD working towards his degree in Business Administration. From Boise, Idaho, he loves the outdoors and spends his weekends mountain biking with his friends. He’s glad to be a part of the team here at USD’s Electronics Recycling Center!
Deven Fuselier is a a Los Angeles native that’s found himself working at the ERC in his last year at USD and he could not be any happier! The ERC provides constant daily obstacles that allows him to put his training to the test while being innovative in ways to better help the process if one is present. During his short span at the ERC he has expanded his common knowledge for computers and gained key customer service skills to help him in the future all while practicing and promoting sustainability!
Erick Deyden is 18 from Phoenix, Arizona. He is in his first year at USD studying Engineering. At the Electronic Recycling Center, Erick is a part of the sales and testing team. He is commonly found in the tech lab either helping with ebay shipments or posts, or testing items like iPads and smartphones. He is very thankful to be a part of the ERC team!
Gaby Escalona is from Caracas, Venezuela and is a first year student at USD. She is planning on majoring in Marketing with minors in both Computer Science and Visual Arts. At the ERC she works at the front desk and handles all of our social media including our Instagram and Facebook accounts. When she graduates she hopes to continue her work in this area as well as public relations and graphic design. She loves the ERC and hopes to work here for as long as she can!
Loki Bhogela is an electronics enthusiast who likes to work on any and every electronic device, his favorite being desktops and laptops. Apart from being a tech enthusiast, he likes to read and watch Netflix series a lot, mostly science fiction genre. He likes to travel and has already been to couple of lovely places in and around San Diego. He is hoping to stay around here after graduation to explore some more places.
London Mahaffey is currently a junior at USD, and is originally from Corona, California. She is majoring in Biology with a minor in Computer Science. London aspires to become a geneticist and do research in the field of epigenetic. She hopes to bring knowledge to the public realm about the substantial influences the environment has on people’s health, and how the environment has major influences on microscopic cellular levels in the human body.
Nicky Kullback is currently a ClimateCorp AmeriCorp fellow here at the ERC. During her teaching fellowship, she is the mentor to the five King-Chavez high school interns. When the interns are at school, Nicky attending training seminars with other SoCal ClimateCorp fellows, creating sustainability lessons, and helping out around at the ERC.
Hector del Castillo is a senior at King- Chavez and also another one of our interns. He enjoys learning all about the different parts of the computers and loves going through all the donations the ERC receives in the back warehouse. After he graduates in June, Hector wants to travel and apply to college.
Jonathan Baza is another intern from King-Chavez this semester. He loves working in the Lab at the ERC on donated electronics to re-sell in the store and on Ebay. Outside of the ERC, Jonathan loves to cook and play video games. After graduation, Jonathan hopes to go to culinary school on the East Coast.
Jose-Luis Escobedo Rivera is the fifth intern from King-Chavez high school. He is also in his senior year. Jose-Luis loves working with the ERC staff, and also enjoys working on the donated TVs and computers. After graduation, Jose-Luis plans to start the process of becoming a San Diego Firefighter!
Jose Garcia is one of the five interns from King-Chavez Community High School here with us this semester. He is in his senior year of high school. At the ERC, Jose loves working with the donated computers trying to get them working again. After graduation, Jose hopes to go to college and receive his degree in Computer Engineering.
Noel Rodelo is in his senior year at King-Chavez Community High School. He loves working with the computers at the ERC. When he’s not at the ERC or school, Noel is participating in the Young Entrepreneurship FutureBoss competition to gain more insight in becoming an entrepreneur. After graduation, Noel hopes to start his own business.
